The Goms valley is the uppermost valley along the Rhône River and extends from the village Lax to Gletsch, the village at the foot of the Rhône Glacier.
The area is well-known as a cross-country skiing paradise and for thrilling river rafting tours in summer.

Ïn the foreground the Chapel of the Madonna, located between Gluringen and Ritzingen at the top of the Ritzinger Feld. It is known as one one of the most famous pilgrimage sites in the Canton of Valais and because of its incomparably lovely position it is also known locally as the «heart of the world».
