The Stockhorn is the highest mountain of the about 13 kilometres long Stockhorn Range (Bernese Alps). The range is located in the south of the city Thun and seperates the valleys of Simmental from the Stockental. The Schadau Castle was built between 1847 and 1854 for the Neuchâtel banker Denis Alfred de Rougemont according to the plans of Pierre-Charles Dusillonand. Today It houses a gourmet restaurant and the Swiss Gastronomy Museum.
