The large rock arena Creux du Van in the Jura mountains (canton of Neuchâtel) has a diameter of more than one kilometre. It was formed over millions of years by the erosion of water and ice. It is surrounded by imposing, over 160-metre-high vertical rock faces with a deep basin. Creux du Van area offers an impressive spectacular 360-degree panoramic view. On a clear day, you can also enjoy an impressive view of the Swiss Alpine arc 100 kilometres and more away from Creux du Van. The area can be reached on a hike. There is also a one-lane road. It should be noted that the road is single-lane, which means that if there are large numbers of visitors, on a glorious day at the weekend, oncoming traffic should not be underestimated.
