The Brienzer Rothorn (2'350 m) is a mountain in the Emmental Alps and is overlooking the north shore of Lake Brienz. Its summit can be reached by the Brienz-Rothorn railway, a gauge rack railway, which connects the summit from the village Brienz at 566 metres above sealevel, or by cable car from Sörenberg. The railway was opened on 17th June 1892. The mountain offers outstanding views, especially of the lake Brienz and the Bernese Alps.
