The Cerro Autana is situated in the South West of Venezuela and was declared as a natural monument in 1978. It is one of the table mountains of southern Venezuela and about 1300 m high. Inside the mountain, there is a cave formed entirely of quartz, which measures about 400 metres in length and 40 metres in height.
