The Big Bend National Park is located in the southern part of Texas at the border to Mexico. It covers an area of 3'242 square kilometres. The highest point within the park is the Emory Peak of the Chisos Mountains at 2'385 metres. Some authorities include a part of the Chisos mountains as part of the Sierra del Carmen.
