The Kulma Pass, at an elevation of 4'362 m above sea level, is a pass across the Pamir Mountains on the border between the Gorno-Badakhshan Autonomous Region of Tajikistan and the Xinjiang Autonomous Region of China. It is the only border crossing between Tajikistan and China. The road was officially opened on May 25, 2004 and connects the city Murgab in Tajikistan and the Karakorum Highway in China.
