The Mt. Hermon massif, also known as Jabal Haramun or Jabal al-Shaykh, straddles the border between Lebanon and Syria. Its summit is the highest point of Syria. The southern slopes of Mount Hermon extend to the Israeli-occupied portion of the Golan Heights.
