Le Grammont is a mountain in the Chablais Alps. It is located in the east of Les Jumelles. With its 2'172 metres above sea level, it is one of the highest peaks overlooking the Lake Geneva.
The picture of the stamp is identic to an old engraving. The point of view is from the "Hotel du Monde" in Grandvaux. The stamp shows the vineyards, the church of Cully, the bay and beach of Moratel, surrounded by poplar trees. In the background the Chablais alps, seen from Grandvaux.
The picture, from the topographic point of view, does not correspond with the real view. The Dents du Midi cannot be seen from Grandvaux. The stamp shows the view with Dents du Midi, seen from Montreux, which is situated about 20 kilometres east of Grandvaux.
