Bristol Island

The Bristol Island is an uninhabited volcanic island of the South Sandwich Islands. It is situated between the Montagu Island in the north and the Bellinghausen, Cook and Morell islands in the south.

The Bristal island is formed by several overlapping volcanoes of which some still are active. It covers an area of about 46 square kilometres. The highest point is the Mount Darnley at 1'100 metres. South Georgia 1984 Zavodovski Island Mount Asphyxia stamp
