The Rara Lake is the largest lake of Nepal. It is situated at an altitude of 3'060 metres in the Mugu district in the far western region of Nepal, near Gam Ghadi and the Talcha airstrip. The surface is around 8 square kilometres. The length of the lake is 5 kilometres and it is 2 kilometres wide. The lake is situated in the Rara National Park.
