The Jannu, also known as Kumbhakarna or Phoktanglungma, is ranked as the 32th highest mountain on the world.It is situated in the Kangchenjunga Himal and is connected with a long ridge to the Kangchenjunga in the east.
First ascent: 28.04.1962 by a French expedition ( Robert Paragot, Paul Kellar, René Desmaison and Sherpa Gyalzen Mitchu).
Jean Ravier, Lionel Terray and Sherpa Wangdi reached the summit one day later on April 29th.
