The Ama Dablam is situated in the Khumbu region (Mahalangur Himal) and is one of the most spectacular Himalayan peak. Its main peak is 6'812 m and the lower western peak 5'563 metres high. The Ama Dablam is situated in the Sagarmatha Nationalpark and dominates the eastern sky for anyone trekking to the Mount Everest base camp.

First ascent: 13.03.1961 by Mike Gill (NZ), Barry Bishop (USA), Mike Ward (UK) and Wally Romanes (NZ) via the southwest ridge.
