The Lebanon Range is extending almost the entire length of Lebanon, paralleling the Mediterranean coast for about 240 kilometres extending into Syria. Its highest summit is the Qurnat as-Sauda (3'088 m). The Jabal Sannin in the east of Beirut is the second highest summit of the Lebanon Range.

Aqoura, Aaqoura or Akoura is a mountainous village in the Jbeil District of Mount Lebanon Governorate. Aqoura is located at the head of the Nahr Ibrahim river valley, about 1'400 metres above sea level. In the area around Aqoura can be found about 120 such artificial pond of water. The mountain behind the pond is Chîr Mâr Hanna (1'838 m).
