Hongdo is an island in the Yellow Sea and located 115 km from the southwest coast of Mokpo port in South Korea.

The about 6 kilometres long and 2.5 kilometres wide island rises precipitously from the sea and is bounded by sheer cliffs, bizarre rock formations and wooded hillsides cut by ravines. Hongdo is a protected nature reserve and part of the in Dadohae Haesang National Park.
