The Tokachi Volcanic Group is situated in the south-western part of the Daisetsuzan Nationalpark.
Major peaks of the Tokachi group are Mount Tokachi-dake (2'077 m), Biei-dake (2'052 m), Oputateshike-yama (2'013 m), Kamihorokamettoku-san (1'920 m), Furano-dake (1'912 m), Biei Fuji (1'888 m) and Bebetsu-dake (1'860 m). The Tokachi-dake is one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan.
