The three mountains Shirouma-dake (2'932 m), Shirouma Yarigatake (2'903 m) and the Shakushi-dake (2'812 m) are collectively called as the Habuka Three Mountains ("Shirouma Sanzan" or "Hakuba Sanzan" in Japanese).

They are summits of the Hida Mountains (Northern Alps) in the Japanese Alps within the Chubu-Sangaku National Park (border of the Nagano and Toyama Prefectures).

The Shirouma-dake is also one of the 100 famous Japanese mountains.
