The Mt. Nijo (474 m), also known as Futakami-yama (Futakamiyama means twin mountains), is situated at the border of Osaka and Nara Prefecture. Mt. Nijo consists of two neighboring mountains with peaks at 517 m (Odake) and 474 m (Medake) above sea-level.
This mountain is worshiped by local people as a gateway to heaven. Looking from the Asuka area, the sun dropping behind Mt. Nijo, as it sets, is an extremely picturesque sight.
The Unebi-yama (199 m) is a small mountain of 199 m elevation, located in the city of Kashihara.
