The Ishizuchi-san is situated in the Ehime prefecture and is the highest mountain on the island on Shikoku. (The second highest mountain on Shikoku is the Tsurugi-san).

It is one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan. The area around Ishizuchi-san is a major part of Ishizuchi Quasi-National Park. The highest peak of Ishizuchi-san is known as Tengudake at 1'982 metres. Other peaks are known as Misen* (1'975 m) and Nansenpou. 

* Please note, there is another mountain known as Misen, situated in the center of Miyajima Island.
