The Ise-Shima Nationalpark is a coastal park which contains the Shimahanto Peninsula located in the east of the Kiihanto Peninsula (Mie Prefecture). Along its coast, there are many bays and the inland area of the park is a hilly land. The highest point in the park is the Mt. Asamayama at 555 metres.

The stamps were issued perforated in sheets of 20 stamps and imperforated in the miniaturesheet Ise-Shima Nationalpark.  

The 5 sen stamp is showing a rockformation, known as Meoto-Iwa, which is situated about 8 kilometres northeast of Ise city. Meoto-Iwa means "rocks of husband and wife". The large rock on the left is "husband" and the small rock to the right is "wife". The rocks are connected with thick ropes.  

The 10 sen stamp is showing the Cape Daiozaki with its 22.5 metres high Diazaki lighthouse (built 1927).

The mountain pass on Asamayama is located (34°27'31.56"N 136°47'30.44"E) between the town Ise and Toba in Ise Shima National Park.
Japan 2016, the stamp was issued in the series Ukoye Series 5.
