The Gran Sasso d'Italia is a mountain range, situated in the Abruzzo region of central Italy. The Gran Sasso forms the centerpiece of the "Gran Sasso e Monti della Laga Nationalpark". Its main peak is the highest mountain of the continental Apennines.
