The Timna Valley is situated approximately 30 km in the north of the Gulf of Aqaba. The valley covers an area of about 90 square kilometres. The Mt. Timna in the center rises 453 m above the surrounding valley.
It is famous for its copper mine, sandstone cliffs and stone formations, for example the King Solomon's Pillars, the Mushroom and the Arches.
