Ísafjarðardjúp is the largest fjord in the Westfjord region (Vestfirðir). The fjord is about 70 km long and on its south-western side there are side-fjords extending into the land: Skutulsfjörður, Álftafjörður, Seyðisfjörður, Hestsfjörður, Skötufjörður, Mjóifjörður and Ísafjörður.

The Vigur island is the second biggest island after Æðey island in the fjord Ísafjarðardjúp. Vigur island is 2 km long and 400 metres wide.
