Mt. Botnssúlur are cluster peaks of an extinct volcanoe, close to Botnsdalur valley in Hvalfjordur (the Bay of Whales) and a short way from Thingvellir National Park and World Heritage Site. The highest peak (Syðstasúla) is 1'095 m high. Other peaks of Botnssúlur are Vestursúla (1'086 m), Miðsúla, Súlnaberg (954 m), and an other unknown peak.
The view from the Botnsulur peaks is great on a good day, but care must be taken of all the mountain narrow rims and snow. The mountain hike takes approximately three hours.
