The Bohemian Switzerland National Park is part of a larger geological formation known as the Elbe Sandstones and borders the Saxon Switzerland National Park in Germany. It encompass 79 square kilometres of land along the shoreline of the river Labe (Elbe) in the northwest part of the Czech Republic.

The Pravcická Arch is one of the remarkable features of the Bohemian Switzerland National Park. The arch is 16 m high and 27 m wide at the base and in places the layers of rock are 3 m thick.
