"Las Piedras de Tunjo" are situated about 40 km in the west of Bogotá in the city of Facatativá.
Colombia 2005, coat of arms of Facatativa.
The coat of arm has a stone, part of the mountain, which is best seen on the first day cover "The Archaeological Park Facatativá Tunjo", erroneously called stones, stones of Tunja or Zipas Cercado. The park has a high concentration of pictographs. Their age can reach 12'000 years. Unable to determine the exact time of the pictographs, it is not possible to establish them whether to the period of Muiscas or Herrera, nor it is possible to check whether the various pictographs correspond to one or more periods. Regardless of this ignorance the pictographs constitute a valuable natural and archaeological heritage of global significance.
