The Navado del Ruiz is situated about 130 kilometres in the west of the capital city Bogata in the Cordillera Central (Caldas Department). Its summit and the upper flanks are covered by several glaciers.

Theatre Curtain: The curtain, created by the artist Luis Guillermo Vallejo is an oil on canvas of 180m² in which a documentary and descriptive way tells the story of the Antioquian colonisation and subsequent Foundation of the Manizales city with different scenes of different moments of its history, species of fauna and flora myths and legends framed by the geography of Colombia in the background and the conquest of America. The condor of the Andes descends from the heights to take its position in the lower part of the coat of arms of the city of Manizales.
It shows the zone of the Cordillera Central with the snowfall of the Nevado del Ruiz, the valley of the totoras (palmas).
