The Auyuittuq National Park covers an area of 19'089 square kilometres of glacier-formed landscape. It is situated on Baffin Island's Cumberland Peninsula, Qikiqtaaluk Region in the territory of Nunavut. The park is well known for its sheer cliffs, semicircular valleys and distinctive flat-topped peaks.

The twin peaked Mount Asgard at 2'015 metres (north tower) is after the Mount Odin (2'147 m) the second highest peak of the Baffin Mountains.
First ascent of the north tower:
1953 by the Swiss climbers Hans Weber, J. Marmet-Röthlisberger and F. Schwarzenbach of the Canadian/Swiss Baffin Island Expedition, led by the Canadian P. Baird.
First ascent of the slightly lower south tower (elevation unknown):
1971 by G. Lee, R. Wood, P. Clanky, J. Pavur, Y. Kamisawa and P. Koch.
