The about 1 kilometres long Vratsata Gorge (Balkan Mountains) of the Leva River is located between the city Vratsa and the village Zgorigrad in the south. It is a symbol of the city Vratsa and associated with the name of the town. It was declared a natural monument in the year 1964. The vertical walls of Vratsata Gorge are about 300 to 400 metres high.
