The stamp was issued in the series "Landscapes".

The natural Ritlite rock formations are located in Iskar Gorge, north of the village Lyutibrod. These are limestone rock formations that are over 120 million years old. The rock formations look like stone walls along the river Iskar. Some rocks reach 80 meters in hight, the thickness varies from 3 to 7 meters and the length is between 200 and 400 meters. Most attractive are four parallel vertical rock walls on the left bank of the river, while those on the right side are much smaller and less distinct.
