The Nevado Sajama at 6'542 m is the highest peak in Bolivia. It is an extinct stratovolcano and located within the Sajama National Park (Oruro Department). The summit is covered by a permanent ice cap hiding all traces of volcanic crater.
First ascent: 2th October 1939 by Wilfried Kuehm and Joseph Prem (Austrian).
