The Nevado Illampu is the northernmost of the major peaks of the Cordillera Real. lt is after the Nevado Sajama (6'542 m), Mt. Illimani (6'439 m) and the Mt. Aconhuma (6'425 m) the forth highest mountain in Bolivia.
First ascent: 1928 by Hans Pfann, Hugo Hortnagel (Germans), Alfred Horescowsky and Erwin Hein (Austrians).
