The Mt. Kosciuszko (originally called Kosciuszko) is located in the Snowy Mountains in the Kosciuszko National Park. With a height of 2'228 metres above sea level, it is the highest mountain in Australia.

Paul Edmund de Strzelecki named Mount Kosciuszko after Tadeusz Kościuszko (February 4, 1746 – October 15, 1817), he was a polish-Lithuanian general and military leader during the Kościuszko Uprising.
