The Snow Hill Island, also known as Isla Cerro Nevado is about 33 km long and 12 km wide. It is situated in the east of the James Ross Island.

Alférez de Navío José María Sobral was an Argentine Antarctic explorer. He joined the Swedish Antarctic Expedition headed by Otto Nordenskjöld, were spend during the winter 1902 on the Snow Hill Island. Their hut is protected under the Antarctic Treaty.
